Illustrator Fundamentals: Module 4 [Core Drawing Principles] Drawing Basic Shapes In this movie the instructor talks about the different shaping tools and how to manipulate them to have different colors, outlines, and outline thickness. Polygon Star Tools In this lesson the instructor goes into more depth about the shaping tools and a new item called the flare tool. The polygon and star shapes are capable of being altered in terms of how many sides they have to create things as simple as triangles or as complicated as a 100+ sided shape. Drawing Modes In this lesson the instructor describes the process of using the three different drawing modes on Adobe Illustrator [Normal, Behind, Inside]. The normal drawing setting is the default drawing setting that puts layers on top of layers. The behind drawing setting puts layers behind layers. Finally, the inside drawing tool can add layers inside of a selected layer, but layers can also be copied and pasted directly into the layer, as seen above. Live Corners In this lesson the instructor teaches us how to modify the corners of an edged shape. Using the direct select tool we can scale the edges of the shape to round them out or we can double click one of the scaling points inside of the shape to choose the corner type, radius, and rounding mode. Open Path Tools In this lesson the instructor walks us through the different path tools and shaping tools that we can modify with the arrow keys. Pencil Tool In this lesson the instructor teaches us how to properly use the pencil tool and how to modify its settings to our preferences for different projects. Paintbrush Tool In this lesson the instructor describes how to use the paintbrush tool and how to select different paths that you can use with the paintbrush. This allows us to get different patterns for fitting projects. Pen Tool In this lesson the instructor guides us on how to use the pen tool to make straight and precise lines on Adobe Illustrator. Setting individual anchor points and holding angles. Complex Paths In this video the instructor teaches us how to make curved paths on Adobe Illustrator, we learn how to modify anchor points to change pathways for the pen tool. Pen Modifier Tools In this lesson we learn how to modify pre-existing pen paths to change the shape and size of deformations with additional anchor points. Pen Tool Preferences In this lesson we learned how to modify the settings of the pen tool, this allows us to customize the presets for the paths and use the pen tool more effectively for advanced projects. Reshaping a Path Segment This lesson teaches us how to modify pre-existing shapes to have additional features such as curves or added points. This allows us to make complex shapes for specific projects. Smooth and Path Eraser Tools In this lesson we learn about the different path tools and path editing tools. The instructor focuses on the smooth path tool and the eraser tool. The smooth path tool is a free hand drawing tool that will automatically smooth out any rough corners or edges, resulting in a clean line. The eraser tool simply removes designated parts of a line from it’s chain. Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading... Related Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
